Advent 2019 is a journey looking at the coming of Christ.  This week we focus on the identity of Jesus as Wonderful Counselor who brings hope to the world.  Hope for us - hope through us to the world around us.

Isaiah 11 speaks of a stump which represents hope that has been cut off  and yet it also speaks of shoots of new life emerging from the stump.  God's redemption bringing new from old - light from darkness - life from death.

Isaiah 11 also reflects on the benefits of hope gained.  A Wisdom from God (Spirit upon us) - a Way (Jesus) from God and a World of God's Kingdom in how it was meant to be lived.
